While watching your Contacts list you could set some of them to be “starred” or “favorites”. Starred contacts could appear on the top of the list. This way it is easier to find them on your contact list.
Starred contacts also could be set as exceptions for the Do Not Disturb mode. In this case, if a starred contact calls you, it could sound even if the device is in silent mode. This setup makes it possible to have an exception list for silent profiles.
With Sound Profile it is possible to modify the starred list. For example, create a list for Work profile (having your co-workers) and another list for Night profile (having your family).
For more information, please see the help section Create a profile to only accept calls (and/or messages) from specific contacts.
When I go into starred contacts it automatically selects all contscts and I need to unselected 98% of them. Is there a way to “Unselect all” or not automatically select all contacts??
Hello Tod
At the top-right corner of that screen you have a three-dot menu. Tapping on it you have several options like:
-Select all contacts
-Unselect all contacts
-Revert selection
-Select a group of contacts
Till 5.82 version of the App, there was a feature of auto-message being sent for every call being rejected while on “Night” or Do Not Disturb Mode under the App. The message could be customised.
I wish the same feature was again added to the App.
Sorry, Android became more tricky and forbid developers to do things like that. I am sorry, is not possible anymore. Android is more restrictive each time.
Would like a profile that is “quiet”20% notification) for all contacts, except for my children (40% notification).
I can see how to accomplish with Sound Profile Do Not Disturb exception, but I want some low level for all others.
Thanks for many years of a great app.
Hello Mark
Please, try the Notification Exceptions.

Hi, I have just subscribed to sound profile, and I used the starred contacts feature to change my starred contacts for a particular profile. When I change back to the normal profile, my starred contacts don’t automatically change back to what they were previously. Is this expected behaviour? If yes, does that mean we have to specify starred contacts for every profile , since sound profile won’t remember the starred contacts from the previous profile?
Correct. That is the expected behavior. You need to set the desired starred contacts for each profile.
Is there a way to copy starred contacts to other profiles or copy profiles?
Hello Kevin

Is it possible to have started contacts utilize one ringtone while other numbers utilize another?
Hello Greg
You can set that in your Contacts app. There you could edit each contact and assign a custom ringtone for it.
I am getting a notification that I cannot completely read. When in “Night” profile, I get the following notification…..
“Profile “Night” has starred contacts th….
When I click on the notification, it opens the app, but, does not give me any information about what the notification wants me to do.
I don’t see a way to add an image here, so, here is a link to the image that shows the notification. I have blurred the name of the contact.

Hello
Please, send me your settings using the Contact Me option of the SoundProfile main menu. In that email tell me your issue so I can remember it (I receive many emails from many users).
Tell me also the exact profile name you are using for these testings.
I am having some of my Stared contacts having the star dropped, why?
